CIIE Initiatives

The Centre for Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship, in 2007, was re-envisioned as a national center for promoting entrepreneurship and innova Read moretion to solve problems and to become an equal platform to provide growth for such ventures. CIIE believes that innovation backed up with technology and a business plan can help to solve India's problems and it supports such entrepreneurial initiatives. CIIE provides entrepreneurs with three critical enablers i.e., 'Capital', 'Capability' and 'Community'. Capital is needed for any budding venture which is managed by strong corporate relationships with ICICI, Goodrej, Intel, and facilitation by the Government of India. CIIE runs 'Accelerators and Bootcamp Programs' throughout India to provide ground for the best entrepreneurial talents to experiment. CIIE brings Academia, Corporate, Government and CSR Initiatives together to form a strong community for entrepreneurs to utilize. Their intervention known as 'IdeaPad' is a community space for entrepreneurs to co-ponder ideas and solutions. In 2008 CIEE commissioned and published 'Stay Hungry Stay Foolish' an entrepreneurial publication. In 2009 CIIE started India's first accelerator program; 'iAccelerator'. In 2010 it partnered up with The Economic Times and Department of Science and Technology and launched 'Power of Ideas'. In 2011 it launched INFUSE, India's first cleantech and sustainability focussed funds. These funds are used to provide support to hands-on business. In 2012 CIIE started India's first Non-IT accelerator 'PowerStart'. In 2013 CIIE launched sector-specific accelerator called 'Aarohan Ventures' and in 2005 it launched the first food and agricultural sector specific accelerator. In 2017, it partnered up with Tata Trust, DST, and Lockheed Martin to organize the India Innovation Programme 2.0. In 2018 it set up the Bharat Inclusion Initiative. Its aim is to make technology more equitably accessible. It provides entrepreneurs with knowledge, skill, training, and mentorship. Another Incubation project by CIIE is the Jaipur based incubation program called 'Startup Oasis' which works in partnership with RIICO (Rajasthan's industrial promotion Organisation). The IIMAvericks programme provides financial support and membership to graduate students and encourages them to take up entrepreneurship. It provides prototyping grants, stipends, training workshops and fellowship programs. Innocity is another incubator program by CIIE which is flexible and customized in nature. It helps entrepreneurs to get on-demand services, grants and fundraising support. 'How to start a startup' is a lecture series curated by CIIE which has insights by successful entrepreneurs from all domains. CIIE also publishes a blog which has impacted 70,000 people In the ten years of CIIE's existence, 25,000 ideas have been implemented, 500 ventures have been provided training, incubation or acceleration, 100 startups have been seed-funded and 3000 jobs have been created.
