Overview |
Jaldhaara Foundation aims to provide access to clean water by purifying any source of water in accordance with WHO standards. Its mission is to develop and implement sustainable Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) solutions in over two thousand (2,000) communities by 2020. The Water for Schools (WFS) program aims at providing clean drinking water at government-run schools. It attempts to do so by facilitating transportation of water to government schools from water purification units by working with WaterHealth service providers. Jaldhaara has also partnered with SnapEX to install and maintain smart bio-toilets to positively impact sanitation and hygiene in the areas identified as most challenged. It conducts WASH educational awareness programs to improve well-being in communities. Its women's programmes focus on menstrual hygiene, and the health of infants and new-mothers. Jaldhaara Foundation installed a water treatment plant at the Government Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) Nagaram in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana by partnering with GWC. This plant has been operational since 6th February 2016 and provides safe drinking water to over 1095 school children as well as around 30 staff members. Jaldhaara has partnered with JRD Tata Trusts for their Water for Schools initiative, where they had set up a water treatment plant at the Government Mandal Parishad Primary School (MPPS) situated in IDA Bollaram, Jinnaram Mandal, Medak District. It has been operational since 16th June 2014 and caters to 860 students. It has set up a WaterHealth Centre(WHC) at Janwada village in Shankarpalli Mandal, Ranga Reddy district of Telangana. This WHC provides safe drinking water to the Janwada village which has a population of 6321 people. It has also set up a plant at the Govindarajanagar slum in Bengaluru. The WHC in this region caters to a population of around 27,000 inside the area and more than a lakh in and around it. It partnered with Tata Trust under the Tata Water Mission to provide safe drinking water to approximately 3.3 million underprivileged people in Northern Karnataka and Urban Bengaluru. About 65 WHCs were planned in these areas, out of which 35 have been launched. |
