Overview

Works for improving health, enforcing human rights and eliminating instances of bonded labour through TV, radio, online media, street theater, outdoor advertising and mobile phones with projects in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. It works with special focus on improving maternal and child health and operates multiple projects in the field of sanitation, prevention of infectious diseases, prevention of bonded labour, birth control and healthcare.

Its Sanitation project works for ending open defecation in rural areas of India. AdhaFull is its initiative to end gender stereotypes through a television drama series. To address and resolve the issue of gender stereotyping, it has also developed a smartphone game called Nugget.

Its Mobile Kunji and Mobile Academy initiative aims to improve maternal health and reduce child mortality & infectious diseases through a mobile training course which provides training in life-saving health behaviour and an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) based course on maternal and child health.

Its TV and radio outreach program also works with the aim of improving maternal and child health and promoting family planning through a series of advertising campaigns, radio broadcasts and theater performances.

Its mass media initiative Condom is Just Another Word aimed to reduce the stigma and taboo surrounding the purchase of birth control methods. It also works in association with National Aids Control Organization (NACO) in India for normalization of condoms and promotion of awareness about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) through advertisements and radio programs.

Its Bulgam Bhai project aims to increase the number of people opting for sputum testing to detect cases of tuberculosis (TB) and works through communication tool-kits, games, advertisements and street theater.

Its Reach and Response Project aims to highlight the issue of bonded labour through baseline research and works in collaboration with government, local partners and media organisations to reduce and prevent bonded labour.
