Overview |
Works with the mission of ensuring comprehensive development and well-being of children which is measured in terms of access to healthcare, education, adequate care and equal opportunities for growth. To achieve its objectives, it works in multiple areas including education, nutrition, development, livelihood, gender, water, sanitation, humanitarian assistance, disability and hygiene. It allows donors to donate a sum of INR 800 per month to facilitate well-being of a child. Donors can choose to donate for a period ranging from one month to two years. To achieve all-around development of children, it works to make sure that underprivileged families and communities are equipped with necessary socio-economic resources to enable sustained economic development, education, healthcare and leadership development for children. Through its efforts, it has been able to reach more than 26 Lakh children and 6,000 communities in 25 Indian states. |

Intervention to strengthen education system
Works to provide and ensure lifelong learning opportunities for children through infrastructure support in educational institutions, remedial education and strengthening school management. It also works to address and resolve the issue of malnutrition in children, pregnant women and mothers through counseling, programmes for emergency feeding, nutrition gardens, training health workers and developing infrastructure government-run child care centers called Anganwadis. Gender Equality
Promotes gender equality by educating families and encouraging the elimination of gender-bias and through tuition centers for girl students, provision of cycles for the girl child and construction of toilets in schools. To ensure the development of disabled children, it works by creating and running disabled peoples’ organizations, providing wheelchairs, facilitating better infrastructure for children with disabilities and creating advocacy forums for disabled children. Its advocacy initiative is focused on creating an equal-opportunity environment for children by ensuring equitable access to services for children and their families. Water & Sanitation Interventions
Its water and sanitation initiative works for providing access to clean drinking water for children and their families, promoting good hygiene & sanitation through the construction of toilets in schools, homes, communities and promoting open-defecation-free communities. Livelihood Enhancement
Its livelihood initiative aims to enhance the economic conditions of families to provide better living conditions for children through economic assistance for better agriculture, livestock and small businesses. It also works to train youth for enhancing their employability skills. Through its humanitarian initiative, it provides life-saving support in times of disaster and works for rehabilitation of affected communities. |
