Family Planning Association of India (FPA India) is a social impact organization that provides vital health services in 18 Indian states with an empha Read moresis on sexual and reproductive health. FPA India was founded in 1949 and has been working in the field of sexual and reproductive health for seven decades. It collaborates closely with national and international funding organizations, NGOs, and state and federal governments. Each year, FPA India affects the lives of over 30 million people and strives to reach a broader audience while having a greater impact. With the help of donors and development partners, it has carried out several programs with success over the years.

  • The Abortion Stigma Project

    The objectives of this program are:

    To build a culture that is gender-just, to lessen the stigma associated with sexual activity, unplanned pregnancy, and abortion, and to enable young women to exercise their rights regarding sexuality and reproduction.
    Through gender-transformative and rights-based communication, to lessen the prevalence of unsafe abortions and the stigma associated with abortion among communities in specific rural and peri-urban blocks of Lucknow district, Uttar Pradesh.
    To lower the number of unsafe abortions in the project's operational areas by fostering an atmosphere that makes it easier for young, impoverished, and vulnerable women to obtain stigma-free, high-quality abortion services.
    To compile and disseminate data and best practices for expanding campaigns to combat stigma around abortion.

  • Maternal and Child Health Project

    Enhancing the health and nutrition status of teenage boys and girls, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and children under five years old is the goal of FPA India's Maternal and Child Health initiative, which is funded by Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Ltd. Its main objectives will be to lower child and maternal mortality and morbidity and raise living standards, especially for vulnerable and impoverished groups.
