Major tasks and accomplishments (as reported by the NGO):
PADI has completed 12 years successfully reaching out to the children in need in distress and protecting to their fundamental Rights. Below are the details of all 3 projects and activties carried out through this Projects.CHILD FRIENDLY QUALITY EDUCATION PROGRAM-PADI through this project has intervened in enhancing teaching learning environment in the schools opted by the Project and is fostering positive school-community linked that are involving the local Panchayath and strengthening the SDMC in the school, the activities are1. Capacitating Program for existing 8 Education Resource Centres- Executive Committee members for enhancing leadership, Mangament, Program organising, fund raising and administration skills2. Workshop with Education Dept, on preparation of Concept of RTE Cell.3. Consultation with Child Rights & Meena Club of the schools.4. State level Consultation with various networks to promote the child friendly school concept.5. Workshop on designing the tools for data collection on RTE & Child Friendly School stock taking at State level.ERADICATION OF CHILD MARRIAGE-PADI has reached out to more that 160 children from various districts of Karnataka through various awareness program, addressing cases of child marriage and child labour issues. Project was able to put forth the children demand through submitting memorandum to the education minister for proper implementation of RTE Act 2009 and provide basic amenities for the children in government schools of remote village. One of the success achieved through this project was the demand put forth by the children was put into action SHALE KADE NANNA NADE, this is an awareness campaign which has its objective of reduce the out of school children to the number of zero, launched by Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights in collaboration with Education Department, Women & Child Development Department. thus reduced the out of School children.To achieve the Project objective following tasks were taken up- Advocacy, lobbying and networking on child Rights, radio Interview, talks shows on Awareness on 0revention of child marraige and child labour, Capacity building for the Officers of Child Marraiage Protection and Child Line Teams.
