Claims to have created following impact: 50,000 plus children and adults are trained under Project Angel – an initiative for prevention of child sexual abuse. 97 girls have received services at Inchara Home and 20 girls are undergoing residential care and support. 15 government schools covered under MSSI project benefiting over 1000 children. 50 angel boxes installed in schools to check child sexual abuse. More than 500 youth trained in various skill development programmes. It is running Covid Relief programme wherein more than 17,500 meals have been served, 6000+ ration, sanitation kits and 1,000 PPE kits distributed. This programme is run in Karnataka, Orissa, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu & Delhi.

  • Inchara Home-Rehabilitation of Victims of Child Sexual Abuse and Violence

    Inchara Home for Children (girls), located in Mangalore, which has been providing services since October 2017, is completely committed to the cause of Children in Need of Care & Protection. Under this programme, we foster a homely environment to our children by providing nutritious food, quality education, safe shelter, regular therapeutic counselling, vocational training, and legal support to ensure proper rehabilitation and restoration of the children. We are a licensed home for 25 children functioning as per the guidelines of the Juvenile Justice Act (Care and Protection).
    So far we catered to more than 160 girls and currently 20 girls undergoing rehabilitation

  • Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse

    Since September 2014 Inchara Foundation is implementing Project ANGEL – An Initiative for Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA), with the support from well-wishers and donors. Project Angel has been considered as one of the innovative project by Deshpande Foundation providing grant for 2 years. In a span of few years, we have reached out to more than 100,000children and adults helping the children to break the silence and protect themselves. One of the key aspects of this Project is the 360° approach to fight the social evil in order to prevent CSA. Through this project we ensure the involvement of all the direct (parents, teachers, staff/drivers, caregivers) and indirect (local authorized bodies) stakeholders by engaging them into our trainings and services; existing within the community pertaining to child welfare with respect to CSA.

    Project Objective & Outcome

    Objective: Increase Mental Health Awareness Among School Children

    Outcomes:

    • Knowledge Enhancement: Students will gain a better understanding of what mental health is, its importance, and how it affects overall well-being.
    • Reduced Stigma: Students will develop empathy and a more open-minded attitude towards individuals facing mental health challenges, reducing the stigma associated with these issues.
    • Early Identification: Students will be equipped with the skills to recognize early signs of mental health difficulties in themselves and their peers, promoting timely intervention.
    • Effective Coping Strategies: Students will learn healthy coping mechanisms to manage stress, anxiety, and negative emotions, contributing to their emotional resilience.

  • Gender Sensitization of Boys and Menstrual Hygiene Training for Girls

The objective to organize workshop is to make young boys understand: - Gender & gender roles/stereotypes interrogating existing concepts around masculinity - Sexuality and sexual - diseases, disorders, and health - Educating and mentoring boys on violence perpetuated m the name of rigid gender roles established by society.
