Donor Testimonial

I have known the founders of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) since 1969, i.e. from before they even started their community work in Bihar and Jharkhand. The UK charity, Action Village India of which I am a founder member has supported different NBJK projects since 1995 including girls' education, strengthening grassroots groups and people with disabilities.

I have visited NBJK's coordination office and field area many times. The managers and directors and virtually all of the staff are local people. This enables them to pinpoint crucial local issues and people/communities who need support and devise ways of delivering projects with a good chance of success.

The final project evaluation noted 'The BLF-AVI support brought rays of hope, created foundation for entitlement, developed skill and confidence among the persons with disability, nurtured DPOs to protect their rights independently and sensitized the service providers.' Again NBJK's project staff and finance manager provided accurate and timely reports for the ultimate donor, the UK's Big Lottery Fund. The evaluation awarded NBJK's organisational systems 95 points out of 100.

I can unreservedly recommend NBJK as a project partner; it has experience, local knowledge and carries out all its work in a very honest and professional manner.
