HOPE DISABILITY CENTRE (HDC)-an undertaking of SHE HOPE SOCIETY FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS is a non-profit, non-political, non-government, non-religious Read moreorganization that has been working since 2001 to develop skills for the vulnerable population, including people with disabilities, in the remote, border, and disaster-prone areas of Jammu and Kashmir. It does this by implementing programs and approaches related to community-based rehabilitation (CBR), institutional-based rehabilitation (IBR), inclusive education, disaster risk reduction (DRR), public health, and physical rehabilitation. At HDC, we are passionate about working with individuals with disabilities; nevertheless, managing operations in a conflict zone presents significant challenges due to the scarcity of resources. Programs for livelihood, particularly those aimed at empowering women, are carried out via awareness-raising, education, counselling, job-training skills, formation of self-help organizations, and microloan scheme facilitation. In addition, Hope provides training and courses on child development, human rights activism, health awareness, and catastrophe risk reduction.
