READ India(Rural Education And Development India) works to set up Community Libraries and Resource Centers (READ CLRC) in partnership with rural commu Read morenities. These libraries are equipped with computer rooms, training halls and several other learning resources for children and women. It also conducts skill development training for the community besides educating the people in rural areas on technology and the women and children are guided to develop their reading & writing skills. It envisions providing easy access to knowledge, resources and opportunities to rural communities enabling them towards a prosperous future.

READ India has established 36+ READ centres, 14 sub-centres, 27+ sustaining enterprises, reached over 42,000 people through READ Centers with an outreach of more than 456,000 across 228 villages, 18 districts and 12 States.

Programs

  • Health Programme

    It works in partnership with local health stakeholders, conducts regular disease prevention workshops and sessions and helps people to connect with nearby hospitals. It also organises health awareness camps and health check-ups for community members.

  • Women Empowerment Programme

    It empowers women by providing capacity-building programmes and skills focusing on livelihood training based on local skills, further, it also offers advanced training on the craft preferred by the women.

    It has conducted skill development in the disciplines of sewing, stitching, handicraft production work, zari zardozi, beauty culture, wellness and nursery teacher’s training etc.

  • Youth Empowerment Programme

    It mentors and equips youth for a better future. It conducts life skills sessions, career counselling, personality development, sports, English communication and other development activities.

  • Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) Programme

    It disseminates information and services to rural communities, offering computer courses and training in photography, audio-video programmes and voice recording under the umbrella of its ICT program.

  • Education Programme

    It aims to improve the reading and writing skills of children. It also offers them courses in English learning and digital learning. It has benefitted about 3,400 children, youth, and women through educational programs and training organised at READ India Centers.
