Engages in the development of simple and economic solutions, livelihood projects, community actions, education and social science research. Offers Read moreprofessional research and services like a consultancy or service provider to firms, public agencies, universities and other NGOs, for projects dealing with waste management, water, sanitation, hygiene and hygiene behavior. Offers internship programs to the students. Works in inter-professional, inter-disciplinary, inter-generational and international teams to evaluate the impact of their actions and make viable strategies. Generates funds to make toilets, public waste bins and community engagement programs for the poor. Claims to have created an impact on the society in the areas of education, capacity building, Sanitation and Community engagement through 9 crore members as follows: Built 30 toilets with septic tanks, 2 community toilet complexes, trained 21 rural masons and constructed 32 public waste bins and distributed 200 household waste tins. Built 3 bus stops with bins, arranges 2-3 beach trash walks in a year to clean the beaches. Conducts workshops for the elderly or disabled. 81 internships have been done till July 2021 including Indian and International students. Conducts workshops, webinars on sanitation and hygiene.

The Green Academy Project
This is what we refer to as the "WASHE approach," which means that in addition to teaching children to practice good hygiene and communal harmony, we also need to motivate them to do so. Educates students about the four R's—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Respect—in order to equip them to become environmental change agents in their neighbourhoods.

Improving WASH Infrastructure
Encourages the use of ecosan toilets—dry flush toilets with urine diversion that are hygienic for the environment and eventually for people—in coastal settlements. These eco-friendly 300+ structures have been built by Friend In Need.

Education for Empowerment
We educate students in the following areas:
1. English-speaking classes
2. Women's cycling, scooter, and moped driving classes
3. Computer and smartphone typing lessonsWe connect this to our goal of creating a Clean India. Any student enrolling in one of the courses mentioned above must ensure the following:
1. Sorting garbage into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories;
2. Non-biodegradable waste that cannot be sold to a recycler should be cleaned up and brought to the FIN office so that it does not end up in a landfill, dump, or be openly burned.
3. Participate in a minimum of two of our annual village cleanup events.
