Anwesha is a versatile non-profit organization in the non-governmental sector, established to enhance development strategies and policies through scientific research and analysis. It specifically focuses on underprivileged and vulnerable sections of society, including tribal, handicraft, distressed, and deprived communities. Its goal is to devise sustainable, community-centred strategies that improve education, healthcare, and livelihoods.     Efforts are devoted to passing meaningful change in the lives of marginalized populations in remote regions. The primary focus is on Education, Health, and Livelihood promotion through Handicrafts. Operating in the tribal and peasant-dominated landscapes of Orissa, the aim is to comprehensively develop these communities. Activities extend to remote areas, supporting Government initiatives and identifying development needs. Key areas of involvement encompass Handicrafts, Education, Health, Environment, Natural Resources, Cultural Resources, Tourism, Agriculture, Plantation, Women's Empowerment, Livelihood, and Poverty Alleviation. This work spans 200 villages across various blocks and districts.

  • Tribal Art and Artisan Promotion Programme

International business relationships have been fostered to enhance craft marketing. Anwesha's marketing executives have engaged with handicraft shops, emporiums, showrooms, wholesalers, retailers, and foreign buyers to expand its presence.

    Artisan exposure visits are highly valuable, offering artisans enriching experiences and the chance to interact with peers to learn diverse work styles. Anwesha has orchestrated trips to essential craft hubs within the state, fostering rewarding exchanges of indigenous craft practices among artisans from different regions. The organization's secretary took part in the "MARKETING EXPOSURE VISIT & BUYER SELLER MEET" seminar in New Delhi, hosted by Fair Trade Forum India. There, he shared insights on enhancing sales and the livelihoods of rural craftspeople, highlighting Anwesha's global presence with various outlets and marketing channels. The event attracted dignitaries from organisations across India.
