Overview |
Sshrishti provides formal schooling to underprivileged children, especially those of migrant labourers living in slums, with a special emphasis on the education of the girl-child. It offers flexible admission plans to cater to the needs of migrant laborers. It aims to make the children ready to attend mainstream schools once their primary school is over so that they can be admitted in class VI of government schools. It also conducts community mobilization and outreach activities for securing greater participation from women and girls. Sshrishti also works to bridge the digital divide by running computer centres in rural areas, empowering rural children to compete with their more affluent urban peers. It also helps women develop skills through craft-training and vocational guidance so that women are self-reliant and can participate in the economy through opening marketing portals such as the following: online marketing platforms, corporate events, retail partnerships, public events, fairs, and exhibitions. The program aims to help women in terms of employability and economic self-sufficiency. It also runs Mahila Panchayat that is aimed at generating awareness regarding women's rights, providing a platform to voice out any abuse of rights, facilitating redressal through counseling and legal procedures, and mobilizing men and women towards communal vigilance and proactive action. |
Projects |
Education
Incorporates creativity, play, and alternative methods into teaching to provide children with a well-rounded education. Thus, it also incorporates technology to enhance learning and provides the children in its primary school with tablets that are pre-loaded with educational software. It also offers supplementary learning and remedial classes. Additionally, Ssrishti provides life-skill education to develop students into individuals who are aware of both their rights and duties. Health & Nutrition
Basic healthcare is offered to all students; in the morning, milk and fruits are served and later lunch is provided. In addition, students' health is monitored regularly. The community outreach initiative also addresses the issues of health and hygiene in the community. Digital Literacy Programme
Works to enhance the employability of youth from marginalized communities. Ssrishti offers training in basic computer applications like MS Office, training in job-oriented courses like Tally and DTP, uses digital technology to foster awareness and supplement school education, and encourages creative skills in using computer applications. Ssrishti Jagriti
It is Sshrishti’s women’s empowerment program. It works to provide vocational training and skill-development opportunities to women from marginalized communities, ensuring a means of self-sufficiency and a sustained income. The program works to foster awareness through community mobilization and participation. Currently, Sshrishti runs centers where it trains women in tailoring and hand-crafting at Bhatti Mines, Sanjay Colony, New Delhi. Sshrishti’s Mahila Panchayat
It is a women’s empowerment initiative, in partnership with the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), that provides a platform for the Oudh community residing at Bhatti Mines on the fringes of Delhi. In addition, the organization provides guidance and facilitates familial or legal redressal of rights violations. Internet Saathi
