Major tasks and accomplishments (as reported by the NGO): Shri Ram Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources (SRC), as you probably know, is a premier organisation engaged in Research, Training, Consultancy, Seminars and Management Education. It was founded in 1963 as an autonomous, non-profit Society registered under the Societies Act. Over the years, it has completed 172 research projects, published 69 books, organised over 3000 training programmes besides undertaking a large number of consultancy assignments. The Research projects have been funded by various Ministries of the Central and State Governments, Planning Commission, ICSSR and various international agencies like the World Bank, UNDP, Ford Foundation, ILO, FES, Germany, British Council, International Development Research Centre, Canada etc. The Centre is recognised by the Government of India as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation. SRC has a rich tradition of conducting research, training and seminars with a national and international perspective. During the recent years, SRC has organized national seminars on ��_��_��_ Creating a Spirit of Working Together��_��, ��_��_��_Developing Positive Work Culture��_��, ��_��_��_Creating a Culture of High Performance��_�� and ��_��_��_Developing Values and Ethics in Indian Organizations��_��. These seminars are meant for Indian and Multinational corporate sector. SRC has also organized a new series of International Seminars with distinguished persons like Prof. Amartya Sen (Nobel Laureate) on his book Development As Freedom, Lord Meghnad Desai (Professor, London School of Economics) on his book Development and Nationhood, Prof. Jagdish Bhagwati (Columbia University) on his book In Defense of Globalization, Prof. Joseph Stiglitz (Nobel Laureate) on his book Making Globalization Work, Prof. Edmund Phelps (Nobel Laureate) on his book Development and Justice, Prof. Avinash Dixit (Nobel Laureate) on his book ��_��_��_Economics, Lawlessness and Justice in India��_��. Shri Ram Institute Of Management (SRIM): As a natural extension to its academic activities and in line with its objective of preparing young men and women to occupy managerial roles in work organisations, the Centre has set up in 2003 a division, Shri Ram Institute of Management (SRIM), to offer a long-term programme in Management for fresh entrants and practicing executives. Currently the 6th batch/programme is being conducted. The seventh full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) has commenced in August 2009.Some of the special features of the Programme are ��_�� Programme designed to address practical needs of national and international business��_�� Pedagogy of Action learning, business games, case discussion, simulation and role plays��_�� Application of industry based research and consultancy experience in problem diagnosis, problem solving and decision making.��_�� Strong student-industry interaction and exposure to live problems.The students of the two years Post Graduate Programme of SRIM can simultaneously obtain an additional degree of a deemed University of UGC. The Shri Ram Centre also has an institutional arrangement with IIT, Delhi whereby students of PGPM can study some papers there. SRIM helps students to get placement in industry. Most of the students of the earlier batches have been successfully placed in reputed companies.
