Programs

  • Educational Aid Programme

Aident's focus on marginalized children has centred on hands-on and joyful education. Over 15,000 youngsters have taught us how effective educational interventions should be. Support has come from individuals, international NGOs like Terres Des Hommes (Germany), Government initiatives like Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and National Child Labour Programme, and corporate entities like Deutch Ban Schenker (Germany). By partnering in learning, Aident has reintegrated countless illiterate and dropout children, fostering inclusivity in education and society. Channelling these children's creative potential contributes to both individual and societal development, echoing the educational ideals of Sir Aurobindo.

  • Healthcare Programmes

In 11 high-prevalence districts across Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand with Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Aident raises Hepatitis B & C awareness and screens 1.5 million, prioritizing vulnerable groups and collaborating with Government health efforts. Targeting HIV/AIDS, they engage over 13,000 high-risk and 65,000-75,000 vulnerable individuals, lowering STI/RTI rates. Aident's success led to learning site recommendations and inclusion in the Bloomberg Initiative Grant, amplifying tobacco control advocacy and government-NGO partnerships. Aident, a National Rural Health Mission partner, enhances Reproductive Child Health through institutional deliveries and healthcare skill development.

  • Livelihood and Self Development Programme

With over 15 years of rural community engagement, Aident recognizes livelihood as a central concern. Sustainable year-round employment remains a challenge. Training in diverse fields like data entry, mobile repair, beauty culture, and more empowers individuals. In collaboration with Tata Power, Aident empowers over 500 women through self-help groups, offering training and capacity-building events, equipping them to apply their skills for livelihood.

  • StriShakti Kendra Programme

The Gender Resource Centre, StriShakti Kendra, meets women's needs comprehensively. Conducting awareness sessions for marginalized women regarding legal rights, domestic abuse, and workplace discrimination, legal counselling is also offered. Empowering economically, efforts focus on forming Self Help Groups, providing training, and establishing linkages. Literacy classes break socio-economic barriers for illiterate or neo-literate women, while medical consultations address women's concerns in the 20-35 age group. The centre ensures awareness and access to Government schemes. Awaaj Uthao campaign partnership empowers girls and women, promoting societal awareness. Supported by Tata Power, 500+ women in SHGs benefit from training and capacity-building initiatives.

  • Capacity Building Programme

Empowered communities thrive independently. Projects prioritize community capacity-building. Whether in education or sanitation, the emphasis lies on the community's understanding of their role in dignified living and development. Shifting perspectives is vital, anchored by natural leaders' involvement. Once convinced, programmes gain momentum. In rural contexts, Panchayat Raj institutions empower alongside informed communities. This synergy fosters awareness, spurring demand, and accountability in service delivery.

  • Child Labour

Over the past decade, Aident focused on eradicating and rehabilitating child labour. Advocacy ensured Government adherence to child labour provisions, facilitating mainstreaming through education and skill development. Over 10,000 child labourers benefitted, transitioning into formal education and gaining employable skills for a better livelihood.
