Registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act 21, 1860, in the year 191-92 with the Society's Registration Department, Government of Bihar, Patna, SGVS holds additional registrations under sections 12A & 80G of the Income Tax Act and the Foreign Currency Regulation Act 1976. It is also registered under KVIC, Government of India. Since its inception, SGVS has steadfastly and effectively addressed community vulnerabilities, promoted women empowerment, and enhanced livelihood opportunities for youth. The organization actively engages in tackling issues related to health, gender discrimination, education, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, equal justice, and the rights of marginalized communities. These challenges are particularly prevalent in the operational areas of the organization, covering the districts of Jehanabad and Arawal in the state of Bihar, India. Over the years, SGVS has successfully built strong relationships with the target community, as well as with block and district administrations. This has earned the organization a distinctive reputation as a committed entity dedicated to the integrated development of the most marginalized rural and urban communities.
