We work collaboratively with various government ,national,international development organization, civil societies, CSRs and other stakeholders to enhance quality of life through promotion of inclusivity, social equality, and social justice. Issue

CHILD PROTECTION AND EDUCATION: BJUP is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children from marginalized community. We recognize that children in need of care and Protection (CNCP) are particularly vulnerable to various forms of exploitation,abuse, and neglect. Therefore, we strive to end Child Labour, Child Marriage and all forms of Child Rights Violation. We strive for the development of resilience among children and youths from deprived communities in decision-making processes that affect them and valuing their contributions through meaningful child participation approach.We also mainstream children in the community through bridging efforts such as enrolment of deprived children and quality education delivery in governmental schools.We provide physical and technological infrastructure, as well as services to government schools such as smart class, providing digital platforms, teacher training, educational materials, establishing laboratories and libraries in government schools and scholarships to vulnerable children, in order to enable them to realize their right to "Free and Compulsory Education." LIVELIHOOD AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT: BJUP is dedicated to uplifting disadvantaged communities by building different models of responsible livelihoods. We genuinely believe that every individual, regardless of their social, economic, or cultural background, possesses inherent potential and resilience which needs to be explored. Our organisation identifies potential livelihood options and offers end-to-end assistance to the marginalized communities through a package of services that includes linkage to social security schemes, productivity enhancement in agriculture, bio-stock support, local value addition, micro-enterprise development, assets support and marketing support in an integrated manner. We also prioritise skill development through various vocational training for women and youths to equip them with the skills required pursuing and enhancing income-generating activities. Thus, our initiatives cover all three major livelihood sectors including Farm, Off- farm and Non-farm. By doing so, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and provide a pathway towards financial independence. HEALTH AND WASH: BJUP is dedicated to achieving health and WASH equity among marginalised populations. Our initiatives in the health and WASH sectors aim to increase resources, awareness, capacity and good governance with in public health, RMNCH+A and HIV/AIDS to combat illnesses and fatalities. Through awareness campaigns and the BCC programme, BJUP works to educate the population, particularly women, about health, hygiene, and nutrition. Another intervention to adopt improved menstrual hygiene practises is to increase the sanitation coverage by strengthening the sanitary pad supply chain and raising community demand. Additionally, BJUP is trying to build a sustainable community in terms of WASH and health through waste management, water quality monitoring, infrastructure development, awareness building and advocacy. WOMEN EMPOWERMENT: BJUP is devoted to gender equity and women empowerment by addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by women from marginalized backgrounds. Our focus is to organize women from marginalized section of the society, federate them into their own institutions such as within CBO s and SHGs , and educate them about their rights and entitlements. Additionally, we equip them to speak out against any social issues, such as gender discrimination, child marriage, human trafficking, dowry, domestic violence, etc., and promote them as change agents for socio-economic upliftment.We also promote women by providing soft skills, financial literacy, vocational training and entrepreneurship development which give her a sense of self-worth and improve her ability to make decisions at the household and community levels. ENVIRONMENT/NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: At BJUP, we are dedicated to working towards a sustainable future for our planet. Our focus is on the environment, recognizing the urgent need such as climate change and pollution. Our organization is committed to implementing innovative solutions that are environmentally sustainable such as promoting natural farming, plantation and diversified irrigation system. We also promote solar based group irrigation system using water sprinkler and solar street lights to reduce the carbon print in the environment. Further, we emphasise to use energy efficient cook stove which can reduce smoke inhalation with significant health benefits to women and children, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, slowing deforestation and a variety of social benefits.

Impact

Impact (Thematic)-2022-23 Livelihood and Entitlements: 1. Empowering Entrepreneurs: We have supported 128 beneficiaries, equipping them with the necessary assets and assistance to launch their own ventures, fostering economic self-sufficiency. 2. Agricultural Transformation: Over 500 farmers have received vital support, including the installation of vermin compost systems, solar-based group irrigation facilities, and provision of high-quality seeds, bolstering sustainable agricultural practices. 3. Advanced Agricultural Training: More than 500 farmers have been empowered through specialized training in advanced agriculture and livestock management, enhancing productivity and income. 4. Community Prosperity: Over 1,000 community members have benefited from the establishment of four community facility centers and four tool bank, leading to increased income and reduced expenditure. 5. Skill Development: We've provided vocational training to 239 youths and women, arming them with skills crucial for employment opportunities and economic stability. 6. Social Security Outreach: We've connected 1,419 families with government social security schemes, promoting financial security and well-being within the community. Health and Sanitation: 1. Health Access: Through regular health camps, 3,570 individuals in our intervention areas have received essential health check-ups, ensuring their well-being. 2. Nutrition for Children: We've supported 125 children through nutrition camps, safeguarding their health and development. 3. Improved Sanitation: The construction of 20 soak pits and repair of 10 hand pumps has facilitated sanitation and clean water access for over 300 households. 4. Empowering Girls: More than 1,000 girls have benefited from our support for sanitary napkins, promoting hygiene and dignity. 5. HIV Support: We've provided counseling support to 5,805 HIV-positive individuals and high-risk groups (HRGs) while registering 78 people living with HIV in an ART center. 6. STI Prevention: A remarkable 648 HRG individuals are now free from any STI infection, promoting community health. 7. Condom Distribution: A total of 187,580 free condoms have been distributed, contributing to safe practices and disease prevention. Children Education and Protection 1. Education Opportunities: We've provided financial support to 716 children, ensuring their continued access to education. 2. Formal Education: Over 350 children are now linked with formal education systems, broadening their horizons. 3. Smart Schools: Three schools have been transformed into smart schools, benefiting more than 1,000 children with enhanced learning environments. 4. Educational Resources: We've supplied teaching and sports materials to 22 schools, enriching the education of over 2,000 children. 5. Empowering Learning: Through eight Anganwadi Centres and BaLA writing initiatives, 280 children have improved their foundational skills. 6. Digital Education: We've enrolled numerous children in digital education programs, equipping them for a digital future. 7. Library Access: The establishment of 28 community libraries and the upgrade of 16 school libraries have expanded access to knowledge. 8. Promoting Education: 10 learning centers have been established to promote elementary education, ensuring that learning continues. 9. Child Protection: We've successfully rescued 103 children from child labor and missing status, safeguarding their rights and futures. Women Empowerment: 1. Empowering Women and Girls: We've empowered 168 women and girls through various skills, including Karate, Jewels making, and more, fostering independence and confidence. 2. Financial Literacy: 252 women have received financial literacy training, equipping them with essential financial management skills. 3. Entrepreneurship: More than 50 women have been identified for asset support, enabling them to start their own ventures and achieve economic self-reliance. Environment/Natural Resource Management: 1. Green Lighting: We've installed 150 solar streetlights, illuminating communities while promoting renewable energy. 2. Organic Farming: Fifteen vermin compost pits have been established to encourage organic farming, promoting sustainable agricultural practices. 3. Solar Irrigation: Five solar-based group irrigation systems have been put in place, conserving water resources and enhancing agricultural productivity. 4. Water Resource Management: The installation of five government-subsidized sprinkler irrigation systems has further advanced sustainable farming practices.
