Major tasks and accomplishments (as reported by the NGO):
1.Slum Area Development: Cleaned an entire slum area at Hafiznagar Bamunimaidam Guwahati while making people aware of issues related to Health ,hygiene,education,women rights,child rights and sanitation through participatory committees.This is the cleanest slum area in the Northeast of India.The area has 295 people and 75 households.100 percent of its children go to school,Alcoholism and drug abuse has reduced by 75 percent, Domestic Violence has reduced by 95 percent and 100 percent is aware of their civil rights.2.Non formal Onsite school for rescued Child Labourers:90 students are enrolled.42 would be mainstreamed into Government schools by July 20123.Organized two knowledge building initiatives called Cafe Conversations with Veteran Journalist Wasbir Hussain on Water Wars especially India and China and American Ambassador Peter Burleigh on shifting dynamics on Indias eastern neigbourhood in Guwahati city.
