Children with Intellectual disabilities are often neglected and looked down upon by the society. They often receive negative feedback from schools and hence refuse to develop positive cognitions to the outside world. As a human being it is their basic right to have equal opportunity for getting education. Therefore this organization is providing Special Education and Rehabilitation Services to Children with Intellectual Disabilities in the name of Uma Manovikasa Kendram at Kakinada and Ongole of Andhra Pradesh, The Early Intervention & Rehabilitation Centre for Special Needs Children at Yanam, Puducherry under the aegis of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Govt. of India, New Delhi and local resources. This organization is also maintaining a Day Care Centre for Children with Intellectual Disabilities at Saluru in Parvathipuram Manyam district. Special education provides students with identified disabilities specialized instruction designed to meet their unique learning needs, giving them an opportunity to develop to their fullest potential. Based on the concepts of these special schools are to provide the following are the services to the beneficiaries at these centers.  Early Identification & Intervention  Special Education  Vocational Training  Speech Training  Physiotherapy  Psychological Intervention  Music and Yoga therapy  Co-curricular activities  Parents counseling and guidance etc.

Deafblind State centre with the support of Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI), Bangalore through Sense International India is providing services like identification, screening, clinical and functional assessment (vision and hearing) and other various areas like sensory, mobility, communication and functional academics etc. Also providing medical, nutrition and assistive devices, special education and vocational rehabilitation etc., to Deafblind.

This centre is provided with the support of Reliance Industries Ltd., KG D6, Gadimoga under Corporate Social Responsibility for Rehabilitation Service to poor and needy Special Needs Children and PwDs and the villages covered are Tallarevu, I.Polavaram Mandals and Yanam. The following services are being provided:  Early Identification & Intervention.  Special Education.  Therapeutic Services.  Physiotherapy (for children & adults).  Midday meals.  Parents counseling and guidance.  Vocational Trainings and production of handicrafts.  Co-Curricular Activities etc.

Community-based rehabilitation (CBR) is to ensure that people with disabilities should have the same rights and opportunities like other community members. This includes equal access to health care, education, skills training, employment, family life, social mobility and political empowerment etc., a CBR Programme is being implemented at Rampachodavaram Mandal, which is a hilly and tribal area with the support of Andheri Hilfe Bonn, Germany.

The DDRC is a scheme of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of India, New Delhi. We are the implementing agency under the Districts Management Committee which is headed by the District Collector & Magistrate. It is providing several services for the welfare of persons with all categories of Disabilities.
