PashooPakshee's inception stemmed from a grand vision—to provide discerning tourists with distinctive, socially-conscious keepsakes tailored for India Read more's popular tourist destinations. These crafted items are the result of meticulous handiwork by local artisans and residents living in close proximity to these sites. The core aim is to nurture sustainable livelihoods and instill a deep sense of belonging within the local communities, thereby safeguarding the essence of these locales. The origin of this endeavour can be traced to the observation of a shortage of high-quality souvenirs in India's tourism landscape, which had been flooded with mass-produced and affordable imported trinkets posing as mementoes. The brainchild was to create socially responsible souvenirs by providing meaningful employment opportunities to marginalized communities. It celebrated regional arts and crafts by crafting contemporary designs inspired by age-old traditions. PashooPakshee adheres to the principle of "Design, Train, and Sustain," championing the cause of indigenous tribes and forest-edge dwellers in their pursuit of dignified income. The products, carefully curated by in-house craft experts, embody the ethos of involving local women and artisans in the crafting process. The journey towards fostering sustainable livelihoods began through strategic partnerships with local charities and the implementation of comprehensive training programmes for its beneficiaries. Over time, strong connections have been forged with five distinct communities, comprising both urban underprivileged groups and remote tribal enclaves. The name PashooPakshee originated from its roots in wildlife and nature tourism. In subsequent years, its horizons expanded to encompass various sectors within the tourism industry.
