Programs

  • Programme with JAVS

Janarth Adivasi Vikas Sanstha(JAVS) collaborates with Swaniti in Nandurbar to investigate the obstacles encountered by migrant workers in the textile, brick kiln, and agricultural sectors. The partnership involves conducting a baseline study, assisting the government in enhancing service provisions and improving scheme delivery in hard-to-reach regions, particularly among excluded and disadvantaged communities.

  • Programme with YRA

Yuva Rural Association(YRA) collaborates with Swaniti's Maharashtra team to enhance social protection for unorganised workers in Chandrapur, Nagpur, and Amravati districts. Their efforts revolve around addressing the concerns of seasonal migrant workers in various sectors, including agriculture, brick kilns, and industries. The partnership aims to support the Government in improving livelihood opportunities, income generation, and the overall implementation of schemes and services, with a particular emphasis on these focus areas.

  • Social Protection Programme

The Social Protection Vertical emphasizes collaboration with State Governments and local bodies to enhance implementation strategies for schemes. The objective is to broaden social security coverage for unskilled migrant workers and vulnerable groups. In West Bengal, the Social Protection Project focuses on secluded communities, like tea garden workers, to ensure they receive entitled benefits through partnerships with district administration and stakeholders. Similarly, in Maharashtra, the project aids the state in establishing institutional mechanisms for inclusive social protection of vulnerable citizens in organised and unorganised sectors.

  • Climate & Sustainability Programme

The Climate and Sustainability vertical is actively involved in projects promoting energy transition, green recovery, sustainable planning, and green livelihood in Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh states. The JH-RESET Project in Jharkhand facilitates large-scale energy transition through state-level policy interventions and ground-level initiatives. In Himachal Pradesh, the focus is on making Hamirpur a "Green District" by implementing strategies for non-polluting energy sources, job creation, and sustainable development. In Chhattisgarh, the aim is to increase farmers' income, strengthen MSMEs, promote clean energy, create green jobs, and develop inclusive and sustainable plans at the district level.

  • Technology in Governance

Ank Aha, the tech partner of Swaniti Initiative, comprises scientists and engineers who develop intelligent technology tools for converting data into actionable decisions. These innovative 'Gov-Tech' tools have a transformative impact on governance, enhancing scheme implementation strategies and fostering public participation in development planning. Its tools include Jaano, a mobile application facilitating local governance participation and access to accurate information, and Survey Manager, enabling customizable large-scale surveys. Additionally, Jaano India tracks constituency development nationwide, offering customized analysis for informed decision-making by citizens, elected representatives, and officials.

  • Engagement with Parliamentarians

Swaniti consistently supports the Hon'ble Members of Parliament by providing research, expert briefings, sectoral policy insights, and legislative assistance. The team offers customized research on various topics, including policy issues, international affairs, Government schemes, and legislative interventions. Additionally, Swaniti provides secretariat support to independent issue-based groups of Parliamentarians, such as the Parliamentarians' Group for Children and the Parliamentarians' Group for Clean Air, facilitating research, convenings, and the exchange of best practices on relevant policy matters.
