Prime Educational and Social Trust aims to empower women, educate underprivileged children, and raise awareness about crucial social issues. It envisi Read moreons a world free from poverty and discrimination, where all individuals have equal opportunities for a fulfilling life. Prime Trust was founded in a rural Indian village by S.M. Arasu, who was motivated by personal experiences of gender inequality and financial challenges. Inspired by a devoted nun, Mr. Arasu initiated programmes to empower women and challenge societal norms. Over time, Prime Trust expanded its efforts and now focuses on women's empowerment, self-reliance, social awareness, and education for underprivileged children. Through partnerships and a global volunteer network, it works towards achieving social transformation.

Impact

Prime Trust has positively impacted the lives of over 36,700 beneficiaries across 15 activities, forging partnerships with more than 15 organizations to amplify its outreach and mission

Programs

  • Community Development Programme

    Prime Trust raises social awareness through community presentations in collaboration with stakeholders. It undertakes major projects to renovate Government schools, involving classroom construction and repairs, benefiting 400 schools, relying on donations for resources and funds. Addressing the clean water crisis, it partners with international NGOs to install modern wells in rural areas, like the Uppuvelore project, providing clean water and sanitation. Prime Trust conducts rural health missions, offering essential healthcare services and eye care to underserved populations. It also supports homeless families through counselling, vocational training, and education opportunities for financial stability.

  • Integrated Child Development Programme

    Prime Trust in India addresses child labour and limited educational opportunities. Its programmes include remedial schools, Janani Home for Girls, and Children's Parliaments. Volunteers offer diverse activities like arts and crafts and homework help. It runs daycare centres and child sponsorships, reducing financial burdens for families. A summer camp enriches children's skills.

  • Women Empowerment Programme

    Prime Trust in India is dedicated to empowering women, and recognizing the challenges they face in contemporary society. It supports Self-Help Groups (SHGs), operates vocational training centres, and offers cost-effective daycare facilities to alleviate family responsibilities. It actively engages in annual events like International Women's Day to raise awareness and build self-confidence. Through vocational training projects, it equips women with valuable skills for financial stability and independence. These initiatives include a Tailoring & Handicraft Centre and a mat weaving unit. Prime Trust also extends microcredit to self-help groups, having provided loans and vocational training to over 1,000 women, emphasizing transparency and addressing the specific needs of India's rural underprivileged population.
