Overview

Yes Foundation uses media to promote an empowered and equitable India and enable the country's growth and development. Its programs target the youth and NGOs, as it views the youth as Agents of Social Change and NGOs as Engines of Social Change. Through its initiatives, it focuses primarily on responsible youth citizenship, using Media for Social Change, and Social Innovation.

YES Innovate is a program promoting Communications and DICE (Design and Innovation-led Creative Entrepreneurship) to accelerate social impact of NGOs and social enterprises. It aims to create a platform that unites all the major players in the development ecosystem (corporates/corporate foundations, NGOs and government agencies) in order to facilitate sharing of knowledge and the creation of effective partnerships towards developing India.

Through its 'YES! i am the CHANGE', Yes Foundation offers youth and NGOs a platform where they can use films as a medium to inculcate a spirit of responsible youth citizenship and accelerate a social action. Hence, Yes Foundation invites Youth, Filmmakers, NGOs and Social Enterprises to participate in the YIAC Social Filmmaking Challenge to depict stories of change of NGOs, Social Enterprises and Everyday Heroes. Winning film entries are awarded cash prizes, and NGOs and Social Enterprises with sustainable and scalable social projects will be shortlisted from the film entries to be eligible to win grants worth INR 7.5 crore along with capacity building and mentoring support for 3 years. In addition, shorlisted films will be agglomerated to create a 12-episode show, the Changemaker Series, on Republic TV, highlighting the social impact of the unique model of YES! i am the CHANGE Social Filmmaking Challenge.

In addition to the Social Filmmaking Challenge, Yes Foundation has partnered with UNDP India to offer the Yes Foundation Social Film Grant. This is a competitive film production fund for skilled emerging filmmakers to make 1-minute Public Service Announcement Films on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 4 shortlisted films will be used by UN affiliates and Yes Foundation to popularize SDGs amongst youth and policymakers.

The Yes Foundation Media for Social Change Fellowship is a 2-month program to develop socially conscious youth leadership in association with ISDI-WPP School of Communication and supported by YES BANK. It offers training by renowned industry leaders and mentorship from senior experts in Non-Profits.
