Works with the aim of conserving natural resources, reducing pollution levels and saving the space consumed by landfills through recycling of differen Read moret waste materials. It offers four primary services with the objective of recycling as much waste and paper as possible, namely Office Recycling, Home Recycling, Security Shredding and Recycling Bins. The Greenobin Office Recycling Program (GORP) works with the aim of enhancing individual contribution towards solving the problem of waste generation by maximizing recycling in every possible manner. It provides recycling services for all types of office waste such as office paper, newspapers, vending cups, magazines, paper packaging and other types of waste paper. It also provides technical advice and marketing assistance to offices in setting up and operating an office recycling program. The program consists of four phases. The Plan phase takes into consideration the environmental aspects, policies, objectives, targets and existing management practices, gains commitment of top management and establishes goals and priorities along with formulation of a Green Team. In the Do phase, it conducts a waste assessment, holds training and awareness sessions and implements waste management and recycling programs. The Check phase focuses on monitoring and evaluation of implemented programs and enforcement of corrective and control measures to keep any deviations in check. The final phase named Act is focused on conducting a review of operations and revising goals and objectives, if needed. It assists companies in establishing effective waste management systems within the organization by conducting waste audits. The audits are conducted by visiting the organization, analyzing the existing waste management practices in place, preparing a concise report summarizing the major factors contributing to the residual waste and formulating an appropriate plan to minimize the residual waste which ultimately occupies landfill space. The training and awareness sessions under GORP are aimed at generating environmental awareness. These sessions are conducted in three different phases and focus on general environmental awareness, Environment Management System (EMS) and specific environmental issues, respectively. The GORP program also provides a tracking service which gathers and communicates information on the quantity and quality of recyclable materials collected so as to display tangible results on recycling and promote further participation of company employees in the recycling process. To encourage recycling to the maximum extent, it offers a pickup service which collects waste material and paper at the company's site. Under the pickup service, it also offers waste audit services on the company premises. The Home Recycling service undertakes doorstep collection of waste material from housing societies and encourages the hierarchy of Reduce-Reuse-Recycle. Households exchanging their waste paper with Greenobin are provided credit points which can be converted to cash and exchanged for household goods and can even be donated to NGOs which have a tie-up with Greenobin. To encourage household participation in recycling, it also organizes monthly and quarterly lucky draw contests with surprise gifts for households which sell a certain amount of waste and accumulate certain minimum points. Its Security Shredding service offers secure shredding of confidential office documents with both on-site and off-site shredding. Apart from this, it provides training to company staff on secure handling of confidential information. It also designs, manufactures and supplies lockable bins and specialized sacks to offices for storage or disposal of confidential documents. The Recycling Bin service provides specialized bins for disposal and recycling of paper, vending cups and table tops. The paper bins decrease the chances of paper being contaminated, thereby increasing its usability for recycling. The vending cup bins separate vending cups from other waste, thus saving it from getting soiled and making it recyclable. Table top bins facilitate easy collection of recyclable paper from employee workstations by providing individual paper collection bins. It also undertakes PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) recycling and encourages individuals and communities to recycle their PET bottles whenever possible.

Programs

  • PET Bottle Recycling

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a type of polyester, is widely used for packaging beverages like soft drinks, juices, and water, as well as in sheet form for cups and rigid packaging. Identification of PET bottles is facilitated by a distinctive "injection mould" dot at the bottom and a recyclability number (1), often located inside or near the recyclability symbol mould on the bottle or printed on the label. Encouraging recycling, individuals are urged to recycle PET containers whenever possible and advocate for community and public recycling initiatives.
