Bunavat offers sustainable apparel for urban women by sourcing directly from weavers across India. By offering traditional, sustainable, environment-f Read moreriendly fabric created by weavers in rural India, Bunavat aims to fight the environmental issues, unfair trade practices, and the unemployment in rural weaving communities that fast fashion generates. Its activities are focused on closing the gap between the weaver communities and the end customer, to support the sustenance and growth of the weaver community. A part of the profits made by the organization is contributed to funding community development programs for weaving clusters, with the aim of improving living conditions of the weaver community and uplifting them from poverty. Apart from working for welfare and development of the weaver community, it also works for spreading awareness and consolidating the knowledge about the varied range of Indian textiles and the numerous art forms that are involved in the weaving practices.
