Programs

  • Streetlight

In numerous rural villages, the absence of sufficient community lighting is a prevalent issue. However, the introduction of Solar LED Streetlights has proven to be a transformative solution, enhancing both roadside and personal safety. These solar-powered lights enable villagers to navigate through the night safely and comfortably, while also encouraging them to participate in community activities during the evenings.
To ensure the long-term functionality of the lights, villagers are provided with comprehensive training on proper maintenance and upkeep procedures.

  • DC Solar Microgrid

Over 200 million Indians lack electricity access, relying on toxic and environmentally unfriendly kerosene and biomass lighting. Mrida's 250 Watt DC Micro grid offers two LED bulbs and a mobile charging point for 25-30 rural households, rapidly transforming lives. Local Village Development Committees operate the grids, collecting monthly rent and utilizing funds for further development initiatives, ensuring long-term sustainability. The cost savings from kerosene and additional income generated by electrification outweigh the fees, making this initiative economically advantageous for villagers.

  • Agri intervention

Agriculture is a crucial part of India's economy, supporting over 58% of rural households. To elevate villages, various initiatives like soil testing, seed selection, farmer counseling, vegetable cultivation, and agricultural yield improvement are undertaken. Activities such as beekeeping and mushroom cultivation offer additional income opportunities for farmers. Regular training programs are conducted to guide villagers, reducing input costs and increasing crop yield. A comprehensive agriculture baseline survey is conducted to measure the impact of these initiatives and facilitate their successful implementation.
