Nipman foundation aims to improve mobility of people with disabilities, by conducting access audits of various organizations and providing them with c Read moreustomized accessibility solutions. It has been a part of access audit team for Delhi Metro, Parliament of India, Election Commission, Railways etc. and events like Jaipur Literacy festival. It is consulted regularly by NITI Aayog while formulating disability policy. In order to create a friendly environment, it organizes workshops generating awareness, sensitivity and a sense of equality towards disabled people. It encourages companies by awarding them Equal Opportunity Awards for promoting employment of persons with disabilities by removing physical and attitudinal barriers. The foundation provides a transparent platform 'wheels for life' to enable people and organizations to request or donate for wheelchairs. This is initiated to ensure that underprivileged people who need wheelchairs get them as gifts from various donors. It is also involved with a project called 'Neev' focusing on providing extra classes in government schools to students of classes 6th and 7th. Along with other subjects, students are taught moral values, cleanliness and general knowledge.

    The Nipman Foundation offers accessibility audit services to a variety of organizations. The orgnisations are assessed as per the accessibility guidelines defined under the Harmonized Guidelines and Space Standards for Barrier Free Environment for Persons with Disability and Elderly Persons, 2016.
    The foundation has conducted recent access audits at locations such as Tihar Jail and other correctional facilities in Delhi, Rajghat, District and High Courts in Jammu & Kashmir, The Doon School, Tata, and CII. Additionally, it has also effectively advocated for the inclusion of wheelchair access filters for restaurants on Zomato.

    Nipman Foundation's access auditors have been integral members of access audit teams for various prestigious institutions, including Delhi Metro, Delhi Haat, the Supreme Court of India, Parliament of India, and the Election Commission. Furthermore, Nipman Foundation frequently acts as an advisory body, assisting in the formulation of disability policies for NITI Aayog (formerly the Indian Planning Commission). The foundation has also collaborated with the Railway Restructuring Committee led by Dr. Bibek Debroy to enhance railway accessibility. Currently, it is partnering with the Hon'ble Delhi High Court to transform Delhi into an accessible city. This year, an 'Access to All' module was developed to raise awareness about universal access design and promote the right attitude towards individuals with disabilities.

    The Equal Opportunity Awards were established in 2014 with the purpose of honouring companies and institutions that not only support the employment of Persons with Disabilities but also actively work towards eliminating physical and attitudinal barriers, enabling them to lead dignified lives with access to the Fundamental Right of Equal Opportunity.
    Microsoft joined as the Title Partner for the 2018 edition of the awards. In 2018, the foundation expanded the award categories to recognize inclusive educational institutions, architectural design firms that promote Universal Access Design, and outstanding Disabled Professionals.

    Wheels for Life is a transparent platform designed for individuals and organizations to request wheelchairs and for people to donate them in a simple, accessible manner. The primary goal is to provide individuals with physical disabilities the necessary tools to lead empowered and fulfilling lives.
    This initiative extends its assistance to deserving beneficiaries through two approaches: directly providing wheelchairs to those in need who cannot afford them and encouraging and facilitating wheelchair donations.
    By operating transparently, this initiative effectively bridges the gap between donors and beneficiaries, ensuring that donors can witness the impact of their contributions on the lives of those who receive wheelchairs.
